The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has released Advertisement No. 03/2026 for the recruitment of Officer Grade ‘A’ (Assistant Manager) in the General, Research, Actuary and Official Language (Rajbhasha) Streams.

PFRDA Grade A Educational Qualification 2026

The educational qualification depends on the stream selected by the candidate. The qualification must be possessed as on 31 July 2026.

1. General Stream

Candidates must possess any one of the following from a recognised University/Institute:

Pass or exemption in all seven (07) Core Principles subjects of the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) Examination.

4. Official Language (Rajbhasha) Stream

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

Master's Degree in Hindi/Hindi Translation, with English as a subject at Bachelor's Degree level.

Can Candidates Apply for More Than One Stream?

Yes.

A candidate can apply for a maximum of two streams, provided he/she satisfies the educational eligibility requirements for both.

However, candidates must submit a separate online application for each stream and pay the applicable fee separately for each application.

Important Rule

If a candidate:

  • submits more than one application for the same stream, or

  • applies for more than two streams,

only the last valid application will be considered, and other applications will be rejected. Fees paid for rejected applications will not be refunded.

Phase I Negative Marking

There is negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned to the question in both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Compensatory Time

Eligible candidates with certain locomotor disabilities/cerebral palsy and eligible visually impaired candidates can receive:

A simple Bachelor's Degree is not sufficient for the General Stream under the listed qualifications. Eligible qualifications include a Master's Degree/qualifying PG Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Law, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or specified professional qualifications such as CA, CS, CMA or CFA.

Can I apply for two streams?

Yes. A candidate can apply for maximum two streams, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria for both. Separate applications are required.

What is the application fee?

UR, EWS and OBC candidates have to pay ₹1,000 per application, inclusive of GST. SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted.

Is there negative marking?

Yes. There is one-fourth negative marking for the applicable objective papers in Phase I and Phase II Paper 2.

Are Phase I marks counted in the final merit?

No. Phase I is only for screening and shortlisting for Phase II. Final selection is based on Phase II and Interview.

What is the final selection weightage?

Phase II carries 85% weightage and the Interview carries 15% weightage.

When is the PFRDA Grade A Phase I exam?

Phase I is scheduled for 15 October 2026.

When is Phase II?

Phase II is scheduled for 20 November 2026.

What is the probation period?

The probation period is two years.

Where can selected candidates be posted?

PFRDA currently has offices in New Delhi and Mumbai, but selected officers are liable to serve anywhere in India depending on the Authority's requirements.
