IBPS CRP CSA XVI Recruitment 2026 has been announced by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for recruitment to the post of Customer Service Associate (CSA) in participating Public Sector Banks for vacancies of 2027-28.

A total of 11,403 indicative vacancies have been reported under the recruitment process. The selection will be conducted through Online Preliminary Examination and Online Main Examination, followed by provisional allotment to participating banks based on merit-cum-preference and actual vacancies.

Eligible graduates can apply online from 1 August 2026 to 21 August 2026. Candidates must apply for vacancies in one State/UT only and should have proficiency in the specified local language of the State/UT they select.

IBPS CSA XVI Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline

The degree must be from a university recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

The candidate must have the required degree/marksheet by 21 August 2026.

The final result of the qualifying examination must have been declared on or before 21 August 2026.

Computer Literacy

Candidates must have operating and working knowledge of computer systems.

This requirement can be fulfilled through:

  • Certificate in computer operations/language;

  • Diploma in computer operations/language;

  • Degree involving computer operations/language; or

  • Having studied Computer/Information Technology as a subject in High School/College/Institute.

Local Language Requirement

One of the most important conditions of IBPS CSA XVI is the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT).

Who is exempt from LLPT?

Candidates who produce a 10th Standard or higher marksheet/certificate showing that they studied the specified/selected local language do not have to appear for the language test.

There is negative marking in both Preliminary and Main Objective Tests.

For every wrong answer:

0.25 marks of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.

There is no penalty for an unanswered question.


Which Marks Count for Final Merit?

Only marks obtained in the Online Main Examination are considered for the final merit list.

The Main Examination carries 200 marks, which are converted to a score out of 100 for provisional allotment.

Candidates must apply online only. No other mode of application will be accepted.

Step 2 – Click on New Registration

A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated. Candidates should save these details carefully. They will also be sent through email/SMS.

Step 4 – Select State/UT

Important Rules for IBPS CSA XVI Applicants

Only One Application

A candidate must not submit multiple applications.

If multiple applications are submitted, only the latest valid completed application will be retained and fees paid for other applications will be forfeited.

One State/UT Only

Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT.

State Preference Is Important

The State/UT selected for provisional allotment cannot be changed after the applicable correction window.

Local Language Is Important

Candidates must know the applicable local language of the State/UT selected and may have to qualify the LLPT before joining.

Indicative Vacancies

The 11,403 vacancies are not guaranteed final vacancies. Final provisional allotment depends on actual vacancies reported by participating banks.


IBPS CSA XVI Provisional Allotment

After the Main Examination, candidates who qualify and rank sufficiently high will be considered for provisional allotment.

Allotment is based on:

  • Main Examination merit

  • Candidate's bank/state preference

  • Actual vacancies

  • Reservation rules

  • Administrative requirements

The provisional allotment will be made to one of the participating banks. Once allotment is made, requests for change/re-allotment are generally not entertained.

Important

Provisional allotment itself is not an appointment letter. The allotted bank will independently verify the candidate's documents and eligibility and will issue the appointment according to its own procedures.
