For Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, English is accepted as the local language only for candidates who studied and passed English as a subject from a school located in the respective State.


Bank of Baroda LBO Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution.

The notification also lists the following certifications as preferred qualifications:

  • IC 38 from Insurance Institute of India

  • NISM Series V A – Mutual Fund Distributors Certification Examination

  • NISM Series XXI-A – Portfolio Management Services (PMS) Distributors Certification Examination

  • NISM Series XIII – Common Derivatives Certification Examination

These certifications are preferred and are not listed as mandatory educational qualifications.

The candidate should be:

The applicable relaxation is subject to the reservation points and conditions mentioned in the notification.

Experience Required

This is an important eligibility condition.

Candidates must have at least one year of post-qualification experience as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India.

The experience must be as on 1 August 2026. Experience in the clerical cadre will not be considered.

Candidates will have to submit an experience certificate/job profile certified by their current or previous employer. Bank of Baroda can reject an application if the candidate's job profile does not substantially match the profile of a Scale-I officer.

Local Language Requirement

Candidates must be proficient in the local language of the State for which they are applying. Proficiency means:

  • Reading

  • Writing

  • Speaking

Candidates shortlisted in the online examination may have to qualify the Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

However, candidates who provide a Class 10 or Class 12 marksheet/certificate showing that they studied the specified local language as one of the subjects will not be required to take the LPT.


Who Cannot Apply?

The notification specifically states that:

  • Existing Bank of Baroda employees working in the officer cadre are not eligible.

  • Employees engaged on a contract basis with Bank of Baroda are not eligible.

  • Candidates who resigned from an officer-grade position in Bank of Baroda or exited the Bank while serving on contract within the last three years as on the cut-off date are not eligible.

  • Experience in the clerical cadre will not be considered.

Bank of Baroda LBO Salary 2026

The Local Bank Officer post is in JMG/S-I scale.

The basic pay scale mentioned in the notification is:

In simple terms, the starting basic pay is ₹48,480 per month, with increments as prescribed under the pay scale.

Posting Location
