National Informatics Centre (NIC), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has released the official recruitment notification (Advt No: NIC/STA/2026/2) for the post of Scientific/Technical Assistant-A. OBC (NCL)

Latest OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate in Central Government format (Annexure II). State list or educational certificates are not valid.

PwBD

Permanent Disability Certificate (Minimum 40% permanent disability) issued by a competent Government Medical Board in Annexure IV/V/VI format.

EWS

EWS Income & Asset Certificate (Annexure III) based on FY 2025-26 income and valid for 2026-27.

Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting by GATE Score: Merit lists will be prepared discipline-wise based on the best valid GATE score (2024, 2025, or 2026). Equal weightage is given across all three GATE years.

 

  1. Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of identical GATE scores, tie resolution is done in order of:



  • Older GATE score year

 

  • Candidate older in age

 

  • Higher percentage in essential educational qualification

 

  1. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. Successful completion of DV leads to provisional appointment.

Candidates can submit their online applications through the official portal in 4 simple steps:



  1. Step 1 - Online Registration: Visit the portal and complete initial user registration.

 

  1. Step 2 - Fill Application Form & Upload Documents: Enter personal, educational, and GATE details. Upload scanned images:



  • Photograph (JPEG, 50 KB – 200 KB)

 

  • Signature (JPEG, 10 KB – 50 KB)

 

  • Self-attested documents (PDF, 10 KB – 500 KB) including DOB proof, qualifications, GATE Scorecard, category/disability certificates, and NOC (if applicable).

 

  1. Step 3 - Online Fee Payment: Pay Rs. 800/- via Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card (if applicable).

 

  1. Step 4 - Download Confirmation Page: Save and print the confirmation page for future reference.
